Purging procedure

Purging Compound for Injection Molding – Unicleanplus

Procedure for Cleaning Barrel Solid Grade UC’A” / UC’C’

Recommended  to  feed UNICLEANPLUS™  into the hopper just like general resin.  It doesn’t require mixing with any resin. It is not necessary to change barrel temperature.

Clean hopper by air, so that no any contamination pass on to the barrel.

Empty out the previous resin from barrel by applying high back pressure and completely advancing screw forward.

Feed UNICLEANPLUS™, approximately two times the machine barrel capacity.

Purge using UNICLEANPLUS™ with screw in most forward position and high back pressure.

Feed molding resin and purge till UNICLEANPLUS™ is eliminated.

Retrieve normal molding parameters and start molding.

Procedure For Cleaning Extrusion Screw

Check your barrel temp on the basis of it you can select UNICLEANPLUS™ grade.

Start your screw in empty material position and clean hopper and feed throat.

While using UNICLEANPLUS™, screens may be left back at the time of Purging.

Feed two barrel capacity UNICLEANPLUS™ into the extruder.

Feed UNICLEANPLUS™ into barrel as per easily possible rate. i.e. rate of screw speed.

Purging should be at low speed, once UNICLEANPLUS™ material comes out from head, start purging at low screw speed; after material begins coming out from the head, increase the screw speed to the maximum safe level.

By inching method i.e. stop and start to purge UNICLEANPLUS™. After few minutes once you make sure UNICLEANPLUS™ is coming smoothly from barrel then stop screw and allow UNICLEANPLUS™ to sit in barrel for few min.

Start screw rotation at maximum screw speed.

Purge up to which UNICLEANPLUS™ completely comes out from Barrel.

Manually inspect the purge lumps if lumps are coming out free of contamination.

If still contamination is still then repeat step 5 and 7.

After free of contamination start your next resin on maximum safe screw speed.

UNICLEANPLUS™ UC’L’ is a liquid emulsion grade formulated for quick color change and contamination cleaning effectively in injection molding, extrusion and blow molding application.

UC’L’ grades are compactable for wide range of polymers which has processing temperature range from 160 degree to 420 degree.

Procedure for cleaning using liquid grade

Recommended  to  mix UNICLEANPLUS™UC’L’ grade with your running grade &  feed into the hopper just like general resin. It is not necessary to change barrel temperature.

Mixing proportion can be varied from 1% to 10 % based on the severity of contamination, material & machine specifications.

Clean hopper by air, so that no any contamination pass on to the barrel.

Empty out the previous resin from barrel by applying high backpressure and completely advancing screw forward.

Feed resin mixed with UNICLEANPLUS™ liquid compound, approximately two to three times the machine barrel capacity.

Purge using with screw in most forward position and high back pressure.

Feed molding resin and purge till UNICLEANPLUS™ is eliminated.

Retrieve normal molding parameters and start molding.

Procedure For Cleaning Hot Runner

After barrel cleaning, it is easy to clean hot runner Clean hopper.

Take double part(moulded part) shot size in barrel.

Touch nozzle to sprue bush & open mould.

Inject UNICLEANPLUS™ throughout few times.

Cooling time has to be minimum.

After cleaning switch back to desired plastic material & start production.
